Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Scoreva (“the App”) collects, uses, and protects information. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

1) Data we process

Scoreva may process the following data depending on how you configure the app:

Scanned images of answer sheets (camera capture or imported photos).
Exam metadata (exam name, section name, question count, answer key).
Results (detected answers and computed scores).
Optional: basic diagnostics (crash logs) to improve stability.

2) How we use data

To scan and score exams and quizzes.
To show results, review flags, and export reports (CSV/PDF if enabled).
To sync across devices or back up results if cloud sync is enabled.
To maintain security and prevent abuse.

3) Permissions used by the App

Scoreva requests permissions only when needed. Depending on your device and Android version, the permission names may vary.

Camera

Used to capture answer sheets for scanning.

Photos / Media / Files (Read)

Used to import a photo of an answer sheet from your gallery or file picker.

Storage / Files (Write) — Optional

Used to save exports (e.g., CSV/PDF) to your device when you choose “Export”. On newer Android versions this may be handled via the system file picker instead of broad storage access.

Internet

Used for cloud sync (if enabled), updates, and optional AI-assisted processing (if your build uses online services).

Network State (Optional)

Used to detect connectivity so Scoreva can gracefully retry syncing or online scanning.

Notifications (Optional)

Used to notify you about export completion, sync status, or important scan/review reminders (if you enable notifications).

Scoreva does not require microphone access for scanning. If you add voice features in the future, this policy will be updated.

4) AI / Cloud processing (only if enabled)

If your version of Scoreva uses online AI services, the App may send a scan image to a remote server for processing. You should disclose this clearly inside the App (e.g., before the first scan) and provide an option to use offline scanning if available.

Tip: If you implement offline OMR (OpenCV), you can keep scans fully on-device.

5) Data retention

Results and scans can be stored on your device and/or your cloud account depending on your settings. You can delete scans and results inside the App (recommended feature).

6) Sharing

Scoreva does not sell personal data. Data may be shared only:

When you explicitly export/share a report.
If cloud sync is enabled (to your chosen cloud storage/provider).
When required by law.

7) Security

We apply reasonable security measures to protect data. However, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure. Use strong device security (PIN/biometrics) for best protection.

8) Children’s privacy

If the App is used in schools, the school/teacher is responsible for ensuring appropriate use. Avoid storing unnecessary student-identifying information.
